Campus: IU Southeast
On October 23, 2019, Chancellor Ray Wallace unveiled the IU Bicentennial Stained Glass Window in the Ogle Center Lobby at IU Southeast. Created by IU Southeast students and faculty in partnership with The Stained Glass Gallery of New Albany, the window features a geometric sunburst with the IU logo at the center and a variety of shapes radiating outward.
The stained glass is held in a wooden frame that allows it to be mobile. To create the window, faculty, students, and professionals had to consider light sources, glass coloring, and develop the precise skills that are required when working with glass, which can easily break. The window commemorates IU’s first 200 years and is an excellent example of how IU campuses can work with community partners to provide students with unique learning opportunities.
