'Straight No Chaser' to compose IU bicentennial song, gives special performance to alumni

Not only did recording artists and billboard-charting a capella group 'Straight No Chaser' give a special performance during IU Alumni Association's annual barbecue luncheon Saturday, but they also had a special announcement.

The male a capella group announced that it has been commissioned by Indiana University to compose and perform a song commemorating the university's bicentennial in 2020.

During the Cream and Crimson weekend, the group performed three songs from their repertoire and then concluded with the IU alma mater “Hail to Old IU” and the IU fight song.

The group formed at IU in 1996 that has sold tickets worldwide while recording for Atlantic Records.

While in Bloomington, the group is heading into the studio to record its next album for the record company.
