Description of Funded Activity

IU’s American Indian Studies Research Institute (AISRI) was founded as an interdisciplinary research center in 1985. It has been instrumental in helping to preserve, revitalize, and teach American Indian languages and cultures. In collaboration with Native communities, AISRI has produced materials that help native communities with language revitalization projects.

The AISRI Publications Materials Project Grant covers the printing costs for historic and current language revitilzation publications in order to catalog AISRI’s 30+ years of materials and to allow AISRI to continue to provide these materials to potential new partners and cultivate existing relationships across campus.
