Description of Funded Activity
Throughout the 2018-19 academic year, the Office of International Services celebrated 75 years of dedicated service to international students at IU. As part of this celebration, OIS hosted two major events, the Big Tent 75th Anniversary Reception and the World’s Fare 75th Anniversary Luncheon. These events centered around the contributions of international students to the IU community, while recognizing the important work that IU has accomplished within the field of international education.
The 75th Welcome Reception was held on September 7, 2018 and welcomed new and returning international and domestic students, IU administration, faculty, staff, and community partners. Approximately 600 people attended this event.
The 75th Anniversary Luncheon was held on November 9, 2018. Held in Franklin Hall, the luncheon featured consular and embassy offices and focused on the history of OIS’s contributions to IU and IU’s history with NAFSA: Association of International Educators.
