Primary Source Immersion Program

Description of Funded Activity

This program, administered by the IU Bloomington Libraries, consists of a three-day summer workshop that is designed to help instructors integrate primary sources into new courses or into newly redesigned courses. This program ensures that IU’s collections are used in instruction, allowing students to get hands-on experience with materials that they may have otherwise not have access to and to provide more opportunities to conduct historical research.

In addition to the workshop, instructors are provided small grants to help them implement changes to their curriculum. The program began in 2017 and has received Bicentennial support since 2018.
