Campus: IU Bloomington
Planned in three phases across a three-year period, Jordan Avenue underwent major structural and aesthetic changes as part of a $2.5 million project to make the road safer, more accessible, and more visually appealing.
“This [project] provided us an opportunity to make some significant improvements to the look and feel of the street and to reinforce the character of this portion of campus,” said IU’s director of landscape architecture Mark Ramsey. Thanks to these improvements, Jordan Avenue now has the look and feel of a central thoroughfare through IU Bloomington’s campus, allowing students to commute from class to their dorms to 3rd Street under the cover of beautiful trees and surrounded by Indiana limestone walls.
