All Indiana University Book Read

Date: October 15, 2020

Time: 12:15pm–1:15 pm

Format: Virtual

Host: Interprofessional Practice Development, IUPUI

We welcome everyone to join the IU community in reading the book, Long Walk out of the Woods: A Physician’s Story of Addiction, Depression, Hope, and Recovery, written by IU School of Medicine alum and current Riley Children’s Hospital palliative care physician, Dr. Adam B. Hill. Dr. Hill’s book will hopefully open delicate conversations about substance use and mental health in a way that will be conducive to people feeling supported in their own personal journeys.

The book read is from September 14, 2020 to October 8, 2020. A small group of students, faculty, stakeholders and/or community partners will convene to create deep and enriching conversations throughout the readings. Upon completion of the book read, a Forum with Dr. Hill will be held via Zoom on October 15 from 12:15pm–1:15 pm. More information to follow.

The first 200 registrants will receive a complimentary copy of the book. We ask for everyone to please register  here for one of the virtual group sessions either on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:00-6:00pm ET or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00-1:00pm ET. Once registered, a copy of the book will be mailed to you OR you can collect your copy at the Office of Student Affairs on the IUPUI campus, Campus Center at Office #350 located on the 3rd floor.
